Sony Pictures Classics has dated Hank Williams biopic I Saw the Light for release on Nov. 27, 2015, according to a tweet from The Film Stage. The weekend in question suggests this will be a limited bow. The late-November slot for Light pits it against Tom Hooper’s The Danish Girl, arguably one of the biggest sight-unseen contenders of the year.

Tom Hiddleston’s leading turn may snag him an Oscar nomination if SPC fights for it. Ditto Elizabeth Olsen, who plays Williams’ wife, Audrey Mae Williams. Cherry Jones role as Williams’ mother may garner some attention, too. Writer-director Marc Abraham could sneak into the adapted screenplay lineup for his treatment of Colin Escott’s biography.

SPC also has Marielle Heller’s The Diary of a Teenage Girl, Paul Weitz’s Grandma, Woody Allen’s Irrational Man, and James Kent’s Testament of Youth on the docket this year.
