Why? Brolin could ride the coattails of Hail, Caesar! if it’s a big player this season. for the ride. His turns in Everest and Sicario could keep him in voters’ minds.

Why not? The plot suggests that the supporting performances will be very showy – will Brolin stand out? With the exception of Fargo (1996), the Coens’ dramatic works – No Country for Old Men (2007), True Grit (2010) – have picked up more awards attention than their comedic efforts – A Serious Man (2009), Inside Llewyn Davis (2013).
