About the Film

Role: Dalton Trumbo, a screenwriter blacklisted for refusing to cooperate with the House Committee on Un-American Activities

U.S. Distributor: Bleecker Street
U.S. Release Date: N/A
Festivals: N/A

Why? This would be an ideal time for Cranston to chase Oscar, since he’s in the “He can do no wrong!” phase of his career – and he’ll probably have eternal goodwill from Breaking Bad. Hollywood loves movies about, well, Hollywood – especially when they glorify (those in) the industry.

Why not? Bleecker Street is a very new distributor. Hollywood does love movies about Hollywood… but Oscar tends to favor films with fictitious slants. (I mean, even Argo focuses on the making of a fake movie.) Touchy subject matter for many in Hollywood, still.
