Why? Signs point to this being a showcase for DiCaprio. Being Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Birdman follow-up gives the film and DiCaprio a boost, we assume. He’ll win an Oscar one of these years, right?

Why not? The project could easily bore. Man in the Wilderness (1971) – another take on Hugh Glass – was an awards nonstarter.
