  • Toronto International Film Festival – World Premiere (Sept. 12, 2015)

U.S. Distributor: Lionsgate/Roadside Attractions

U.S. Box Office: N/A

Why? Though she hails from a Hollywood dynasty, Barrymore has carved a path of her own with consistently strong performances (if not films up to her level) for decades. The industry love for her turn in television’s Grey Gardens (2009) suggests that the film world will follow suit if she finds the right project. Maybe this friendship dramedy can get Barrymore into the mix.

Why not? Toni Collette looks like the standout here, and Miss You Already looks a bit light for Oscar – at least for now. The film needs stellar reviews and sizable box office. I can see category fraud happening, unfortunately.
