Why? Maybe she can mount a comeback like her hubby did with Deadpool earlier this year? She inspired some chatter for The Town (2010), and the trailer for The Shallows was surprisingly promising. Is this the new 127 Hours? (Spoiler: Probably not, but anything is possible at this point.)

Why not? Can this plot sustain a full-length feature? Director Jaume Collet-Serra hardly inspires confidence, and Sony may prioritize Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk and Passengers – and maybe even The Magnificent Seven – before putting its muscle behind The Shallows.
