Best Foreign Language Film 2015

Updated: Sept. 3, 2015

THE LANDSCAPE

Son of Saul (Hungary) looks like the one foreign-language flick that has a slight chance at making some major Oscar categories. At this point, we should regard it as the front-runner, but if The Second Mother ends up being the Brazilian submission, it may give Saul a run for its money.

For what it’s worth, here’s a PDF of the rules for last year’s Oscars; rules for foreign language film begin at the bottom of page 15.

PREDICTIONS-ISH

The process of guessing what will and will not make the cut always seems to be collaborative, so feel free to leave a comment (or a tweet) that addresses any relevant concerns.

  2. Aferim! – Romania

  3. Goodnight Mommy – Austria

  4. Labyrinth of Lies – Georgia

  5. The Wanted 18 – Palestine

Next in Line?
